Derek Bowley – TVT Head Coach – British Triathlon Level 3 Coach

Derek Bowley is one of the top triathlon coaches in the country and was voted SE Coach of the year in 2006 and was nominated for a lifetime achievement award in 2008.  Under his direction the coaching team provide swim, bike and run sessions suitable for all standards – beginner to International

Paul Weald discovered the meaning of life when he was 40 by running his first marathon. The following year, in 2003, he moved into Triathlon and has been an active participant in local events since that time. His role as a coach to the junior section at  TVT is to help the kids develop the basic techniques of swimming, running, cycling and transition – so that they can compete safely and have fun.

 

Dave BennettDave Bennett – British Triathlon Level 1 Coach

Dave Bennett is a Level 1 coach, doing his Level 2 course in January, aiming to complete by May 2017.  Married with 2 grown up children, 4 grandsons and 2 cocker spaniels. His first triathlon was Wellington Sprint over 10 yrs ago and has gone on to do every distance including Ironman. Dave is also the Communications Officer responsible for the TVT Newsletters and general information dispersal within the Club.

Steve Wilson

Steve Wilson – British Triathlon Level 2 Coach.

Steve coaches the TVTristars Junior Section and helps cover some of the adult sessions. He has always been interested in the outdoors including long distance cycling, mountain biking, mountain marathons and mountaineering.

Steve started triathlon in 2009 when his children took it up.  He races all distances but focuses mainly on long distance events and hilly courses.  Steve likes to contribute to the sport by coaching younger triathletes to help them reach their full potential in a fun atmosphere, at whatever level they chose

Susan MartinSusan Martin – Tristars swim coach.

Susan’s history with TVT goes back to 1986 and for the next 20 years she was a competitor and coach for the club. Susan gave it all up in 2003 to have her children and started back with the coaching this September.

Lynn was county breastroke champion and record holder for 5 years . She swam for Berkshire and Southern Counties plus swam at the National Championships for 8 years.
Lynn trained as a teacher in 1975 and have gained knowledge in all areas of the sport over many years. Having coached with TVT from 1998, Lynn has gained valuable knowledge on the needs of a triathlete.
Chris AitkenChris Aitken– British Triathlon Level 2 Coach

Chris joined TVT in 2012 and has been coaching with our junior Tristars section since 2015, sometimes coaching the adults’ training sessions too. He has an interest in training with technology, such as heart-rate and power.

Following his first triathlon in 2011 he has completed at most sensible triathlon distances, including ironman. Nowadays he much prefers to stay dry by racing duathlons and cycling time trials. He enjoys trail running and most types of cycling.

Chris is also a UKAD Accredited Advisor.
